A startup service company required rapid turn-up of virtual office services for an operation with a network of over 100 agents. They needed a virtual presence involving local phone service, FAX, voice mail, paging, follow-me roaming, and a new corporate web site, complete with email for both corporate departments and individuals. An additional requirement was to support a virtual work force of as many as a hundred or more contractors and agents. Lastly, time was critical to receive funding. In less than a week, QSE was able to create a virtual office environment with one-number service, ACD (automatic call distribution), custom voice scripting, as well as securing the requested domain names and building the new corporate web presence and desired email addresses. The company is now able to control their own corporate image on both their voice telecommunications system and on their web site, and can grow their system to as many as 1000 corporate extensions. The email system has been set up so employees, agents and contractors can receive email both at home and at their office, or over the web from any location, through a single external email address. They have been able to double in size without changing any of their underlying structure.

A non-profit business trade group wanted to upgrade to a new version of their membership management software. Their existing server platform didn't have the necessary horsepower, and their network was maxed out. In addition, critical business data was spread out across multiple workstations and their server backup system wasn't functioning. Workstations were out of date, with hardware that would not support the increased functionality of the software they needed. QSE performed a systems assessment and determined the critical needs to get their core systems up to date. QSE implemented a new RAID server system using Microsoft Small Business Server that provided a significant increase in redundant storage for all users' data, as well as a backup and rotation schedule that ensured reliable operations. The capabilities of Exchange Server allowed them to share calendars and contacts, provided improved scheduling of internal resources such as conference rooms and meeting facilities, and allowed them to take internal control of their email. Implementing a new Windows Terminal Server avoided costly workstation upgrades while giving each user access to critical business applications and computing horsepower.

A diversified petrochemical company that specializes in secondary and tertiary oil recovery needed a centralized and secure system for warehousing their vast library of geologic and production data. Because of the large number of properties owned and operated by the company, the volume of data was significant and expected to grow substantially over time. In addition, it needed to be accessed easily by development and production engineers and geologists, but since this represented the bulk of the assets of the company, it needed to be very robust and secure. An additional complicating factor was their desire to have the geological and engineering data be physically separate from their accounting and finance data. For both the engineering data and the financial data, the challenge was to make it readily accessible to those with a "need to know" and kept away from everyone else. QSE engineered a network that employed different subnets that allowed the financial data to be accessed only to authorized finance personnel, and the engineering and production data to be accessed only by those engineers. All systems were engineered with not only extensive security but with backup and redundancy in case of hardware failure or human error. The system has proven to be very reliable and secure, and forms a platform that can be expanded over time as needed.
